BREAKING FORTH: THE BLESSING Seeding Your World
OPENING: PERCEPTION AND DESTINY Remember what I'm saying. Perception. Now, why this crucial is that our reality is mostly different from our perceptions.
The true reality of our destiny is different from what we generally perceive, and why is that? You get to get your perceptions to follow destiny, or to get your perceptions of life to follow your actual reality, in other words, your proper destiny. There needs to be intentional work in gaining knowledge, gaining understanding and wisdom. This is important.
So your reality could be here, and your perception is in the other point, now how do you get your perceptions to really convert to aptitude? It happens through gaining knowledge, gaining wisdom, gaining understanding. Now, let me give you one example of those perceptions. The example of those perceptions that as Christians is blessing and miracle. You know, now when you talk about blessing, the perception we have generally as Christians is miracles, and as we go through today, you will find out why that is the case, and that's why I said the way to fix perception is gaining knowledge, gaining wisdom, and gaining understanding. Amen.
So, theologically, there are different ways we can explain today's focus by doubling down on miracles, we will really double downs. And the way you can see it could be through the Hebrew thoughts, you know, the Jewish thoughts from the original Hebrew languages, you can view miracles from Jesus' supernatural act as a way of showing the authenticity of his identity that he is one with God. You can also look at miracles from the spiritual blessing perspective. However, we do not have all the time today, and they are all mixed up all in the scripture. So today, I want us to maintain more position towards miracles and blessings from the original Hebrew context, precisely, and trust God for other episodes on how we will want to fit together, or want other things to fit together tomorrow. So the episode.
So the focus of today's episode on miracles and blessings. Amen. So I don't think I will overload us with Hebrew words, but they are very important if you want to study further about it. To look at the Hebrew words, the Greek words that was coined from blessing and and and to bless. I want to be as simple as possible without really undermining the complexity and nuances around blessing and miracles, so our experience has been driven, generally speaking, by a quest for supernatural manifestations of God. You know there is an innate quest in our heart to see the supernatural. You know, and that has led a lot of people into fasting for 100 days, 50 days, you know, 200 days. Even some people painting and giving testimony how they passed it and how they fainted, and all of that-it's really good.
But if you look at the the background of the story, everyone wants to see the supernatural, supernatural in quote manifestation of God, and that has led us even even even to attend the multiple programs, you know, Christian programs, you know, different ways kinds of prayer we pray, you know, and each time you want to have things like a banner, church banner or Christian banner program, and you see power pack program, you know power pack power pack crusade. It resonates with us because we want to see the supernatural manifestations of God. However, there is two things there. It brings frustrations without us realizing that these expectations for the supernatural are bringing frustrations, and it's not because of the supernatural.
It's not because of the desire that we have. It is because our perception of supernatural is in contradiction to the scripture, and then what ends up happening is that we end up in frustration. And just pay attention, please. So the question at your heart today, and we want to answer by the Spirit of God is two big questions.
Two big questions: What is or what are miracles, or what is miracles? You can extend that question to miracles, or miracles, or mere miracles. You can just extend that question. But what exactly is miracle? And then number two is what is blessing. If you can separate them and answer this question, your quest for supernatural, we gain the right perception to focus on reality from the scripture. Amen. So to enable us follow this distinction about miracles and blessing, I will use what I call a comparative approach, you know, so that it looks more organized as opposed to me ranting about what what is the difference. So we're going to follow a comparative approach. But before we do, I want to give us one. definition to differentiate both? Just one-liner, you know, one one descriptive way of seeing miracles and blessing, and then we will use a comparative approach to break them down for proper understanding. Remember what I say: to fix your perception, you need to gain knowledge, you need to gain understanding, and you need to gain wisdom. Amen.
DEFINING BLESSING AND MIRACLE So, what exactly is blessing? In summary, you know, blessing is the is the dynamic transmission. Is the dynamic transmission of God's vital power, goodness, and favor into someone's life. Let me say that again because of you who are taking notes. It's very important. Blessing is the from my reading of the scripture, is a dynamic transmission of God's vital power, goodness, and favor into someone's life. It is dynamic. It is a transmission or transfer of God's vital power, goodness, and favor into someone's life, resulting in fruitfulness number one, peace or prosperity and longevity. So, this transmission of God's power and goodness and favor into someone's life will result in prudence, fruitfulness, peace, and longevity. Those three components are the result. So when you read the Bible, that the blessing of God maketh rich and adds no sorrow. That is what it's talking about. Release it. So there is a result of blessing. Amen. For miracle, miracle is a supernatural intervention. It's a supernatural intervention, and you can stop there.
But if you want me to extend it further, I will tell you that miracle is a supernatural intervention that suspends or overrides, or you can say supersedes the laws of nature to reveal God's glory. Amen. What did I say? Is a supernatural intervention that suspends or overrides or supersedes the law of nature to reveal God's glory. I seen that. That is important to see the three things that it composes. The first thing is that it's an intervention by the sovereign. Number two is that it overlines the existing status quo. Number three is that it happens not for you, not for someone else, but for God's glory. So those three components are the things that comes in to define what a miracle is. But if I step back a bit and talk about miracles, I want to tell a woman if you can see.
It's important you take them. So when we are deviously chasing and searching for miracles, you need to ask yourself the question: Are you get laws and things that you succeed? Am I supposed to follow a natural law and get the? So, without saying, I said we're going to take a more deep dive into a comparative view. Look at a have a comparative view of blessing and miracle, and like I said, I want it to be structured, so it doesn't look like I'm ranting.
A COMPARATIVE VIEW: BLESSING AND MIRACLE So I want to follow three all theological to illustrate how. The second term. is the other column is blessing. So you have that three columns, and so in that future column, I want you to write this because that's what we're going to go to. The first one is nature. The second one is frequency. So we're looking at what is the nature of miracle. What is the nature of blessing? That's what we say. The third row you can think about primary purpose. What is the primary purpose of miracle? What is the primary purpose of blessing? The number four is discipline. How do you see miracles, and how do you see blessings? In other words, it's visible, right? So with those three iron out in your, you can visualize. I want you to see the secret of security. I want you to see. And one way to do it is actually to write. Please, I encourage you to write. It will help you to engage.
1. NATURE So let's go back to the first nature. What is the nature of miracle, and what is the nature of blessing? So let's go there. For miracle, the way you can see the nature of miracle is that it is a supernatural intervention. It is a supernatural intervention. In other words, it distracts, or transcends, or supersedes natural laws. And pay attention. These natural laws, we call them natural communication, not because they were created.
They are natural because God has set them in motion to be considered. Steps. At those nights, you wake up, you sleep, you wake up, and then a lot of people don't understand what it means to have day and night. You sleep and wake up. Some people don't appreciate. We don't appreciate sunrise and sunset. So it becomes common for us. It's not supernatural in that sense.
It is natural because it is something that is supposed to be the normal occurrence of life, but it was created by the supernatural. I see that. So when we say natural laws, it doesn't mean that it's not engineered supernatural. Are you getting? However, a miracle is needed for what is called an intervention that will disrupt. Miracle is about disruption. That is the nature of miracle. Whenever miracle happens, it is to disrupt. All right, in Joshua chapter 1012, to 1314, Please write it down because I'm not going to be able to read. I cannot remove it. Joshua 1012 to 14. As Joshua was fighting. He commanded that the sun stand still. That is what is called supernatural destruction. That is a miracle. That is what miracle is about. It is an occurrence. The nature is an occurrence. of blessing? Okay, is divine people. So, blessing aligns with it enhances or works through natural order, so it aligns with natural order. It enhances that natural order and works through the natural order. So it does not disrupt anything, but it enhances what is possible naturally?
Now, the example I can give you here is Deuteronomy 28 four to five. Deuteronomy 28 four to five. Now Moses said to them, "If you obey the law, lest we be the fruit of your womb. Crops. Less will be the livestock. So if you look at here, God is not destructing animals. Hey, is not disrupting body. He's using the same natural means. That is the vibe. Are you seeing that? That is the same. Close the door. The vibe here. I'll give you an instance.
Let me give this a very example. I don't want to fill you with examples today, so that I don't lose focus on this comparative differentiation, this comparative way I want to go about it. For instance, if the only person you hear in your life, for the most part, is a minister of God who does ministry for time, and he gives you testimonies about how he woke up one day and somebody gave him a drink, how they gave him a part, how somebody gives gifts for your children. You will order it.
You know how they love this house rent, and somebody from nowhere came and gave their house rent. You will say, "This is marvelous. This is what I want. However, Judah has a job. You have a job, and you're able to pay your house rent. In yourself. Doesn't feel that this is good enough miracle. Right? If this is not a miracle, of course it's not. It's a blessing. And so what you want to do is to shift from that blessing and say, "Oh, this miracle is fantastic. That's what I want.
So you're choosing between somebody, for instance, giving you a car versus you going to a car dealer shop and buying the car with your money. Are you seeing that? The reason why it appears very much great to us is you do not see the divine favor that have sustained you probably through skill acquisition through the relationship you have built, building the right relationship and not the wrong relationship that enables you to get a job, a stable job, have the right health to stay in that job to be able to pay your house rent, you don't see the divine name, and what you want is that intervention where you lack everything, and somebody magically comes to your door, knocks at your door, and say, "The Lord said you want to pay house rent, and they give you money to pay her. You see the reason. It looks more dramatic. It looks more, more. It brings a lot of power. You know, it's a wonder. And so that's why, humanly speaking, we appreciate that more. And for that reason, our perception about where God wants us to be, it's not in line. He wants you to remain at the place of blessing. I will show you with the second point.
2. FREQUENCY The frequency. The second point we want to talk about is the frequency. What is the frequency of miracle, and what is the frequency of blessing? Miracle is rare and circumstantial. Miracle is rare and circumstantial. Now, so miracle is given for specific and pivotal moments in life, and here is a clear example from Scripture: Exodus 16:13 to 34. The children of Israel has simply has just left Egypt. They have passed through the Red Sea, got into the wilderness, and then started mongering because there's no food.
They want to go back and eat the cucumber and onions, and the Lord started providing them what we call manna. And for 40 years in wilderness, they were eating manna, the same food, the same source of food, you can shape it into whatever one you want for manna for 40 years. Now, fast forward to Joshua chapter five, verse 12. When they arrived Cana, the land of promise, it's not like they settle. It's not like they occupy entire territory. No, when they step their foot in where God has promised their destiny to be in, it's not like they had anything. They've not planted yet. The Bible says manna stones.
That is to say, that the manner, even though it was 40 years, was supposed to be specific, temporal circumstantial, and after that we never heard about God giving money to the children of Israel. So miracle is really really. rare and circumstantial. Very important for blessing. Blessing is continuous and ongoing. Blessing is woven into the daily reading of life and faith. Your daily bleeding. If you read Genesis chapter eight verse 12, after the mighty flood in the days of after the mighty flood, what happened is that God promised, and what was the promise? It was a covenant that after this flood, seed time and harvest time and winter they will never cease.
So this, what it means is that when you sow during the seed, the harvest time will surely come and you will harvest. It is boring. It is systematic. It is guaranteed. It is a process. Blessing is continuous and ongoing, and that is why, if you're diligent, you will sit before Him. If you're diligent, you will be rewarded if you, if whatever your hand finds to do, and you do it with all your mind, you will experience harvest. I see that. So the frequency of blessing is that it is continuous and ongoing. It doesn't stop this year. It just continues. So my question is: Do you want to live on what is circumstantial, or do you want to live on what is continuous and ongoing? Because that perception will shape how you live your life and what you really value whether you are pursuing supernatural because you are looking for rare circumstantial moments, or you are looking for moment that is replicating itself in a continuous and ongoing way.
3. PRIMARY PURPOSE That leads me to the third point: the primary purpose of miracle. What is the primary purpose of miracle? The primary purpose of miracle is to serve as a sign. Now, if you read it from the Greek word, there's and the Hebrew word, there's a lot of word used to describe this, it is generally called. It's either for wonder, but the word the scripture used to describe miracle as a sign is mophesh in Hebrew, which means extraordinary events that arrest human attention and points to God's immediate action. So if you read John chapter 1141 to 42, Jesus said, "Thank you, God, because I know you hear me, and I'm doing this for these people that heard me. That your name will be glorified. He said to Lazarus, "Rise, rise. It is not about giving Lazarus. That moment, people think it's about giving Lazarus some more days. No, that Lazarus has nothing to lose by the day. He goes to heaven, to the paradise.
The essence of that miracle, that sign, is so that people will see who owns the absolute power. So the primary purpose of miracle is not even about you. It is to validate God's messenger. It is to command attention. It is to prove His absolute power. A lot of people think I want to get miracle for myself. No, it has nothing really to do with you. It has everything to point to God to validate the message, and that's why the Bible said that as they were preaching, that God was confirming their words with signs.
Following, it's not about it, and so a lot of Christians have gone into grudges against God and say, "God, through my head you have healed the sick. You have you have provided for people. You've delivered people. You've brought prosperity in the homes of people. But look at me; I am varied. Look at me; I don't have all of those things. No, it's not about you. He is violating what he has commanded you to do by signs.
That is the essence of miracles. Do we need miracles in our life individually? Yes, for sure. But that is not the desire that you will live in the teams. The primary purpose of this miracle is to adopt is to collect nation and to produce. And so, what is the primary purpose of blessing? The primary purpose of blessing is to sustain and enrich. It is to sustain and enrich. It is to take it this way, to to lead to spiritual hopes. It is to bring peace. You see how spiritual blessing benefits the soul. It is what leads to maturity of character.
It is what is the basis for our secure relationship with God, but that doesn't dazzle an audience. Like it doesn't make an audience say why. Your relationship with God doesn't make an audience say why. It doesn't quickly speak to the dead to rise up. Everybody wants to see it on national TV, but your relationship with God that transmits peace, transmits maturity, that sustains you, that enriches your life, that develops your character-all of those things they don't wow the audience.
4. VISIBILITY The final thing that I want to talk about today in this comparative view between blessing and miracle is visibility. Visibility. Miracles are undeniable and shocking. They are undeniable and shocking. They command immediate fear from onlookers. See all. This is a lifetime of wisdom that is quiet and organic. You know, if you look back over decades, you will recognize that God's hand through faith. You will recognize God's hand through faith. It doesn't leave people that are looking at your life with immediate and terrifying power. You know, it doesn't look like maybe calm hurricane like Jesus came. It doesn't look that way, but that is what the blessing is. It is quiet. It is organic.
THE BLESSING IN EVERYDAY LIFE So here is the bottom line: miracle is a sign of power that points to God and disrupts normal realities, but the blessing-if you read it from the Scripture-when God says, "I will bless you, it means I will speak good words. That's what God is saying. I will speak divine favor over you. It yields fruitfulness. It yields inner peace. So when you talk about miracle, it's always about sign. It's about wonder. It's about power. When you talk about bless, the blessing is about a gift. It's about bountiful gifts. It's about things that are not essentially terrifying. They are continuous. They may look even so normal, but God enhances those normal processes, and it. life. So the word that was used to describe blessing from the Bible, Greek, it's from the Hebrew word is barak. It means a kind of kneeling down to present gift to someone, I see that's what God does with the blessing. So when God said to Abraham or Abraham, "I will bless you, God is presenting a gift that will go on to become what will change our lives today. It's a bountiful gift. It means I will speak well of you. That's the word that was used in in in Hebrews chapter one verse three. Eulogium, like if somebody dies, they will say we elusion of what they've done. Speaking well. That is it. So the question is, how do I think about blessing moving from here? Think about blessing as a continuous loving maintenance and enrichment of your life.
It is continuous. It's an enrichment of your life. It's not dramatic. Then think about miracle is God's dramatic emergency intervention when the normal boundaries of life must be broken to fulfill His divine will. You don't want to be in that situation where God is sending emergency intervention in your life. That's not what God wants us to live by. He wants us to live a continuous and an enriched life. That's why He said, "I will bless you. You will be a blessing To the earth, all of us wants to be always in emergency care, and that's how we pursue the supernatural. And because of that, we abandon the blessing the Lord has called us in. We abandon it because we are seeking for something terrific. Now, blessing or bless blessing is tied to God's presence. It is tied to covenant, and it is tied to your our human obedience. And the result could be material, like wealth, health, children, you know, or it could be spiritual, like peace, wisdom, salvation. Let me give you an instance. You don't, you don't say, "I want to have a child" if you don't have a spouse, or you don't have an opposite sense.
That if you want a child, you have to get married, you or you have to get intimate with someone, and then you have a child. That's a blessing. That's a blessing. But a lot of time we don't consider that. So God said, "I will bless your womb. That is what it means. If somebody is not able to conceive through this process, the person needs a miracle, and that's why, if you look at Scripture, people who were barren when they give birth, it wasn't about ending the barrenness for those people. Those children end up becoming something different.
They begin to represent something beyond family. It is natural to have children, but if you have a child by miracle, it is not about you having children is about God proving Himself, and that's why that's why those children end up becoming different from other children. I seen that. So our blessing, wealth, wealth, not healing, health, children, wealth, not just riches, but wealth-all of those comes because of our covenantal love with the Lord, our relationship with Him, and so His blessing maketh rich in answer.
So, as we obey Him, as we follow His leadings, we walk in that blessing. All of those things happens to us in what you will say a natural way, because our life is enhanced, our life is enriched without disrupting the normal process. So I want you to live today thinking to yourself. Just think to yourself. This is a question I was asking myself, especially this morning. Am I over-indexing my life on miracles and ignoring the blessing of God in my daily, regular life? That could be the reason why I'm not grateful, because I'm looking for something, something ground shaking, and this is the thing that even happens to Christians, because every day the Holy Spirit is leading us by this still voice, but we don't like it. What we want to hear is a testimony that I was I was working as I was praying for 100 days. The Lord appeared to me in a white robe in my room, and He called my name, Rowland Rowland. Hear ye the word of the Lord, and I opened my eyes. It was a bright stain, and He spoke. So we're always looking for the spectacular, and we're missing the supernatural. So are you?
Am I over-indexing my life for miracles and ignoring the blessing of God, His steel voice that is leading me, the blessing He has blessed me with steel, with health, to produce opportunities to have a home, to have a wife, to have a husband. Am I not? Am I ignoring that, and I'm looking at something that is so I'm taking a bit of time. There is too many frustrated persons looking for the next miracle program, looking for the next Miracle event for what the blessing that we have been called into can solve if we key into it. A lot of people have been pursuing healing from one healing to the other, and there there will always be healthy acts. But there is the blessing of health. There is, there is the blessing of wealth, and there is the blessing, the miracle of provision. What do we want? It's as a result of the possession we have. A lot of people get disappointed with God, frustrated, and then they call church deception because probably our focus has been to present miracles. That is circumstantial, and we don't move people towards the blessing that we are according to by our covenantal relationship with Christ. So, here is what I want to say: Can we get our perception to see our covenantal blessing and flow with it in our regular daily life, in our relationship with God, and in prompt obedience to His leader. I think that should be the response. I think that's the response the Lord wants us to have to flow to see our covenant purpose to flow with it in our regular daily life and in our relationship with God and in prompt obedience to His leading.
RECALIBRATING OUR PERCEPTION I can have wealth to buy a car, and then I don't need somebody to bring the car in my house. It depends. I can live in health because by His stripes that I'm healed, or I can be running around seeking for another program that I'll get healing. It's about perception, and that perception, when it starts shifting to the reality that we have in Scripture, our lives will change. The things we call ordinary become the things we appreciate God for. My home becomes a thing to bless God for. My wife, my husband become a thing to bless God for. A good health, a job, skill, sound mind, they become a thing to be grateful for. I begin to look for that boring way of living that is consistent, continuous, because the Lord is speaking well of me in His blessing. The Lord is speaking mercy for me in His blessing. The Lord is speaking goodness, favor. Yes, thank you, precious Jesus.
CLOSING PRAYER I want to pray, or maybe there's something you have in your heart you want to pray as a response. But Father, I thank you for my brothers and sisters. I thank you for this moment. I thank you for wanting to recalibrate our our perception to the true reality of what we have. When you say, "I will bless you, you're not just talking about miracle. You're talking about something that is continuous. You're talking about something that is quiet and organic. You're talking about faith.
In the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus, and Lord, that we all. Osama, your power, your authority in our world for people to know who you are. Not about for them to know us. No, it is for them to know you. Miracles is about you. Blessing is how we live. We have children. We have wealth. We have peace. Thank you, precious Jesus. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
